The invasion of genomic parasites

Invasion of genomic parasites triggered modern mammalian pregnancy.”

This extends cell type-specific changes in yeasts to others that are probably driven by viruses, like human endogenous retroviruses (HERVs), which may facilitate the creation of novel cell types and sexual reproduction. The number of genes involved is 1532, which suggests incalculable odds that novel cell types could be generated at random, or due to any known step-by-step process. But evolutionary psychologists are not likely to recognize that these results put Creation into their concept of evolution, unless they look at the molecular biology we share with other species. So are we to believe in science, or what?

See my January 2011 post: Biofiction, Philosophy, Pheromones and Spirituality about Greg Bear’s prescient prediction of this new information. I hope that whatever it is you believe has some basis in biological fact.
