Molecular biology and evolutionary biology have been separate disciplines and scientific cultures…. Each discipline can be viewed as a missing link in the other’s description of biology, and in medicine.

For instance, the so-called “light of evolution” from Nothing in Biology Makes Any Sense Except in the Light of Evolution (1973) was Dobzhansky’s joke. It was played on all theorists who never learned that ecological adaptations are biophysically constrained by the sun’s anti-entropic virucidal energy and the epigenetically-effected transgenerational epigenetic inheritance that must be linked from the physiology of reproduction to sympatric speciation and all biodiversity on Earth.
