MicroRNA-mediated feedback loops (2)

Tell others about your discovery of a specific microRNA-mediated feedback loop #MiRmFB that links the creation of sunlight to the physiology of reproduction in the context of autophagy and cell type differentiation. Add it to my list and credit yourself with another refutation…

…of pseudoscientific nonsense touted by biologically uninformed theorists.

…miR-200/ZEB forms a tristable circuit…

After more than 7500 tweets, it is time to move forward with more experimental evidence of top-down causation and quantized energy-dependent epigenetic effects that occur only in the context of microRNA-mediated feedback loops.

How Experience Changes Basics of Memory Formation

…a protein called the NMDA receptor, found at the connection between nerve cells, is essential for forming new memories.

… the way our neurons form new connections depends on their prior history, a phenomenon called metaplasticity.

These findings provide insight into the way new experiences are integrated with established memories…

Experience changes quantized energy-dependent microRNA-mediated biophysically constrained viral latency at the level of cell type differentiation in species from microbes to humans. Please try to integrate that fact into the claims about memory formation. Nothing about the need to link top-down causation to feedback loops can be placed into the context of automagical evolution. Proteins do not create themselves, which means the creation of all receptors is food energy-dependent and biophysically constrained by the physiology of reproduction.

…miR-200/ZEB forms a tristable circuit…

2016  Stability of the hybrid epithelial/mesenchymal phenotype

…we identify certain ‘phenotypic stability factors’ (PSFs) such as GRHL2 that couple to the core EMT decision-making circuit (miR-200/ZEB) and stabilize hybrid E/M phenotype.

2018 miR-181d-5p-FOXP1 feedback loop modulates the progression of osteosarcoma

In conclusion, our study revealed that miR-181d-5p-FOXP1 feedback loop modulates cell proliferation and metastasis in osteosarcoma.

Reported as: Giant neurons in the brain may play similarly giant role in awareness and cognition

In Pfaff’s view, the neurons are so critical for the normal functions of the central nervous system that they have evolved the ability to control their own blood supply directly.

In the early 1990’s Pfaff referred me to Robert L. Moss who had linked olfactory input to gene activation in GnRH-secreting neurons of the hypothalamus.

I am surprised to see that Pfaff appears to not know how to link food energy to biophysically constrained viral latency via feedback loops and pheromone-constrained pathology to all biodiversity via awareness and cognition.

All serious scientists have learned about that. Why would anyone report it in the context of the evolved ability of neurons to directly control their blood supply?

The quantized energy-dependent creation of microRNAs links the physiology of pheromone-controlled reproduction from feedback loops to ecological adaptations, not evolution.

Excitatory amino acids play a key role in both adaptive and deleterious effects of stressors on the brain, and dysregulated glutamate homeostasis has been associated with psychiatric and neurological disorders.

This article is both an account of an emerging field elucidating brain-body interactions at multiple levels, from molecules to social organization, as well as a personal account of my laboratory’s role and, most importantly, the roles of trainees and colleagues, along with my involvement in interdisciplinary groups working on this topic.

Critical Issues in BDNF Val66Met Genetic Studies of Neuropsychiatric Disorders

Epigenetic studies have suggested that histone modifications, DNA methylation, and hydroxymethylation are possible mediators linking individual response to environmental factors and brain diseases (McEwen et al., 2015 Mechanisms of stress in the brain).

How many times must feedback loops be linked to quantized energy-dependent fixation of RNA-mediated amino acid substitutions such as BDNF Val66Met before pseudoscientists understand top-down causation?
