Ecological Adaptations: From Angstroms to Ecosystems (1)

The pseudoscientific nonsense touted about Katie Bouman and her involvement in creating the imaginary image of the black hole led to suspension of her twitter account.  I just checked, and it’s back. But see: Why did twitter suspend account??

One year ago, my 2014 invited review of nutritional epigenetics, which was returned without review by the guest editors of  the journal “Nutrients,” was published as:

Nutrient-dependent Pheromone-Controlled Ecological Adaptations: From Angstroms to Ecosystems (4/18/18) Total views: 4403

The ecological adaptations, which appear to be manifested in the human population are detailed in these two reports [159,160]. The ecological adaptations are likely to be nutrient-dependent and pheromone-controlled. If so, ecological variation probably leads to ecological, social, neurogenic, and socio-cognitive niche construction, which is manifested in increasing organismal complexity and species diversity. If not, there may be something as yet unknown about mutations and evolution that makes sense in the light of what is known about nutritional epigenetics and the molecular biology of species from microbes to man.

Today, for the first time, when I attempted to access my published review from last year via this tiny URL, I got this notice from twitter:

Obviously, most people will not ignore the warning from twitter despite the fact that more than 14, 300 tweets from James V. Kohl @microRNApro attest to facts from 1960 about Unraveling the Enzymology of Oxidative Phosphorylation: the Work of Efraim Racker. If they fail to read the published article, they will not link Efraim Racker’s life’s works to mine.

But see: excerpt 1)

The purification and properties of this ATPase are the subjects of the first Journal of Biological Chemistry (JBC) Classic reprinted here.

Excerpt 2)

In 1966, Racker left the Public Health Research Institute to help create and lead the biochemistry department of a new biology unit at Cornell University. By this time, Racker was convinced that oxidative phosphorylation was not mediated by a high energy chemical intermediate but by a transmembrane proton gradient as proposed by Peter Mitchell (5). Joined by Walther Stoeckenius, Racker incorporated bacteriorhodopsin, a protein that functioned as a light-driven proton pump, and the F1Fo-ATPase into liposomes (6). They showed that the protons pumped out by the illuminated bacteriorhodopsin flowed back through the F1Fo-ATPase and generated ATP from ADP and inorganic phosphate, proving that Mitchell’s hypothesis was correct.

Simply put, in 1960, the work of Efraim Racker established the link from the creation of anti-entropic virucidal light to the creation of ATPase and ATP, which McEwen et al., (1964) linked to the creation of RNA.

Dependence of RNA synthesis in isolated thymus nuclei on glycolysis, oxidative carbohydrate catabolism and a type of “oxidative phosphorylation”

The synthesis of RNA in isolated thymus nuclei is ATP dependent.

The anti-entropic virucidal light that is contained in black holes has been linked from light-activated microRNA biosynthesis in plants to RNA interference and healthy longevity via biophysically constrained viral latency in all living genera.

I’ve mentioned, repeatedly that the facts from these two publications:

  1. Virus-mediated archaeal hecatomb in the deep seafloor
  2. Eukaryotic plankton diversity in the sunlit ocean

…have been detailed in the context of games for ages 10+

  1. Subatomic: An Atom-Building Board Game
  2. Cytosis: A Cell Biology Board Game

The pseudoscientific nonsense about the imaginary imagery of the black hole cannot be supported with experimental evidence of top-down causation. That’s why I expect that suspension of my twitter account will occur sometime soon. It is not good business to eliminate discussion of nonsense with facts that link the effective treatment or prevention of all virus-driven pathology and the forthcoming cure for cancer that was reported by researchers from Israel as A cure for cancer? Israeli scientists say they think they found one (1/28/19)

Because I expect Twitter to eliminate my contributions via suspension of my account, I spent several hours today transplanting light-tracking Angel Trumpets. I use them as an example of how Efraim Racker’s life’s works have been linked from McEwen et al., (1964) to the light-activated assembly of the microRNA-RNA-peptide nanocomplex. For instance what is known about ultraviolet light and fluorescence in P. flourescens, links the physiology of pheromone-controlled reproduction in a soil microbe to plant growth.

The biophysically constrained viral latency in P. fluorescens links the light-activated microRNA-RNA-peptide ‘nanocomplex’ from the energy-dependent creation of enzymes to all biodiversity via the physiology of reproduction, which is pheromone-controlled in species from microbes to humans.

Impact Statement The substrate for evolutionary divergence does not lie in changes in neuronal cell number or targeting, but rather in sensory perception and synaptic partner choice within invariant, prepatterned neuronal processes.

The fact that sensory perception and synaptogenesis link invariant, prepatterned neuronal processes to the divergence of these two species was placed into the context of sympatric speciation in System-wide Rewiring Underlies Behavioral Differences in Predatory and Bacterial-Feeding Nematodes (2013)

Highlights

  • Massive neural circuit rewiring between nematodes with divergent feeding behavior
  • Striking patterns correlate with known functional differences
  • Motor synapse differences indicate a substantial change in information flow
  • Correlates of predatory feeding behavior are identified

Comparative nervous system connectomics approaches unravel fundamental differences in synaptic connectivity between the microbivore C. elegans and the predator P. pacificus.

Specific neurons may regulate the rewiring responsible for the distinct feeding behaviors of the two species.

This was reported as: The neurobiological consequence of predating or grazing

…information flow correlates perfectly with the predatory feeding behaviour of the worm.

“The patterns of synaptic connections perfectly mirror the fundamental differences in the feeding behaviours of P. pacificus and C. elegans”, Ralf Sommer concludes. A clear-cut result like that was not what he had necessarily expected.

They linked the food energy as information to the pheromone-controlled physiology of reproduction in two species that they claimed diverged 200 million years ago. But the only evidence for divergence via information flow is sympatric speciation via  Conserved ion and amino acid transporters identified as phosphorylcholine-modified N-glycoproteins by metabolic labeling with propargylcholine in Caenorhabditis elegans cells  (11/10/14)

Clearly, the divergence is not caused by evolution. It is another example of how ecological variation must be linked from what organisms eat to the physiology of pheromone-controlled reproduction in species from microbes to humans via biophysically constrained viral latency in plants.
